An 8-channel send adapter — the source end of a Tetrapatch run.

The TFP8 takes eight balanced (or unbalanced) 1/4" TRS inputs and combines them onto two AES-72 RJ-45 outputs, ready to run over standard Cat cable. Pair with a TRP8 on the receive side for a complete 8-channel snake replacement. Mountable to the HF100 and HF101.

  • Replacing an 8-channel TRS snake between desk and rack, or stage and rack
  • Sending eight channels from a keyboard rig, mixer, or outboard chain into the studio over Cat cable

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The TFP8 converts 8 channels of balanced TRS audio into two RJ45 connections (4 channels per RJ45, per the AES-72 standard). Use it to send outputs from a console, interface, or outboard rack into a single pair of Cat cables. 

  • Yes, or any AES-72-compliant breakout. The TFP8 sends signal into a Cat cable; you need a corresponding adapter to break the signal back out to TRS at the destination. The TRP8 is the standard pair for this. 

  • Yes, but you'll lose the noise rejection benefits of balanced operation. For long cable runs especially, balanced sources are strongly recommended.
